Sports Field Drainage.

Excess water and soil compaction often result in rapid deterioration of playing surfaces and ultimately can lead to the surface becoming damaged and quality of play severely affected.

Good drainage is essential in prolonging and maintaining the quality of a sports field's playing surface. The improvement once land drainage is installed can be very dramatic, waterlogging is eliminated, grass growth is stronger, soil structure enhanced, and maintenance is easier and more effective.

John Elliot Ltd can provide a complete service covering site surveys, drainage design and installation. All works are undertaken by our experienced team using our own purpose built plant and equipment.

Case Study.

Cockermouth School - Football Pitches

In 2006 John Elliot Ltd completed the developed 3 of adult and 3 mini soccer grass pitches on land to the east of Cockermouth School, which was made available by the Leconfield Estate with support from Lady Egremont.

Since then, the pitches have been in full use by the school, the primary feeder schools in Cockermouth, Cockermouth Junior and Senior Football Clubs, other community clubs and Allerdale School's Football League as well as for county schools' fixtures.

Peter Beardsley, who was recently appointed as a Football Foundation Ambassador, opened the six new grass football pitches at the school.

Peter Beardsley MBE said: “These are excellent new pitches which will provide people in the Cockermouth area with a professional standard of playing surface.”
